A Christ Centered, Caring Church
Our Staff
First Baptist Brookline would not be possible without the hardworking staff that oversee the day to day business of our church.

My life's calling is to serve my Lord Jesus in whatever capacity HE has for me. I do not care what the title is, as long as I am in HIS service. I was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1983. From 1998-2011, I led the worship here at First Baptist Brookline; I am now humbled to be the Senior Pastor. While leading worship, my full-time vocation was teaching technology/computers at the Republic School District, of which I retired in May 2012.

The love of my life is my wife, Julie. She is an instructional technology coordinator at Fair Grove High School, is an adjunct professor at Drury University, and runs the multimedia during worship services at FBC Brookline. I am also an adjunct professor for Drury University and have taught at Missouri State University and OTC. Julie and I have one son, Jason.

Churches are not trophy cases, but hospitals where people go to find help, hope and happiness. First Baptist Brookline is a church where you will find a welcome and warm reception. Our visitors are treated like HONORED GUESTS. Our members enjoy worshipping and loving the Lord Jesus. We have many different programs and activities for all ages. Here at FBC Brookline, there is no formal attire needed. You will see few suits and ties, mostly comfortable and casual. Generally I never wear a tie!

As your pastor, I have the privilege of preaching the WORD OF GOD, visiting folks in the hospital and praying for and with those who are hurting. I love my job as pastor! I love my Lord and I love our congregation. I am in my 19th year here at FBC Brookline and 40th year of ministry.

I was saved in 1971 at the age of 17 yrs. That night I told the Lord I was 'willing to do whatever you want, go wherever you send me and be whatever you want me to be’. That prayer and promise set the course of my life and still guides me today.

In 1973 I married my best friend and lifelong singing partner, Vickie. Since then we’ve shared our lives in service across the country. After graduating from Pacific Baptist Bible College in 1979 I accepted the first of several staff positions working with music and youth. In 1986 we returned to our home town of Carlsbad, NM to live, serve and raise our children. During that time we had the privilege of raising two wonderful daughters who have since blessed us with four incredible grandkids!

Over the past 40 years my family and I have had the privilege of sharing our ministry and talents together. We consider ourselves truly blessed and look forward to this new chapter in our lives. When I first visited with Bro. Dan about becoming a part of First Baptist Church and shared with him that I wasn’t looking for a job, but a place of ministry. That was and still is my prayer.
